This week’s Photo Friday entry: ’Delicious!’
This is a little shrimp having lunch, from my trip to Bali last year.
Sorry I haven’t been posting much on the blog recently – been off getting married and having a honeymoon so I’ve got many photos/videos to share with you all as soon as they are organised.
If you want to see my underwater photos from various places then check out the collection of galleries in my Reef Beasties Gallery. Or my best from 2012 here.
To see all the other photo Friday entries (and submit your own) for ‘Delicious!’ here.
PS: I’m currently still selling my 60mm/D300 underwater macro set-up. Click here for more details & the full list of equipment for sale or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks for supporting my work!
I hope you like my two little harlequin shrimp from Bali (above) who are enjoying a fine dining experience of starfish legs. It reminds me of the prince song, I wonder if they have any coffee. I tried to snoot the light into the corner so it looked like a heart shape, hopefully that comes across 🙂
Happy Valentines Day Mike!
Here’s hoping you are all having a great day whether you have a special valentine or are chilling out on your own today in an anti valentine tradition.
Its not often I post photos of me but I really liked this one by Tim Priest from our recent Bali Trip. This is me at the liberty wreck (the little eel garden at the top)…
If you want to see more of Tim’s Bali photos check his flickr set here. And if you want to see my Bali photos check my link here.
See on vimeo here.
Amusing 33 sec video starring Kay Hartley-Mills, Graham Abbott and Shannon Conway

This is my second Bali video. I do hope you like it. If you have any film making tips to help me (I’m such a newbie with video) then please let me know in the comments. This was shot on a GoPro Hero 2 in the GoPro dive housing with the backscatter magic filter on it. Edited in iMovie. Music: “Dire News” by Celestial Aeon Project
Wishing everyone a happy new year 🙂
So here is my first underwater video (well the first one I got around to processing). I did take some footage of the whalesharks in mexico but I’m get to go through that. This is from Bali and its just Jacks…. schooling Jackfish at Coral Garden. I hope you like it….
If you cant see the embedded version (or just want to see it bigger HD) the link to it on vimeo is here:
I’ve called it just Jacks because I took some footage of other reef life and next up is to see if I can make a video from that too. Thanks for watching.
Over the weekend I finished off processing my Bali photographs and posted on my photography degree blog.
This post is full of the images that didnt make it into the assignment (elements of design) – this is just a small screen grab :
Assignment two – Draft Images.
And this post is the actual assignment post (again just a small screen grab of part of the post):
Assignment two – Elements of design.
Please check them out and see what you think 🙂
I’ve just been to Bali (you thought I’d gone quiet). We went on Shannon Conways trip at Scuba Seraya. Mike and I won ourselves another stay there with this image for the end of trip competition:
More images (and video!) to come when I’m less jet lagged. I actually went there with the agenda to do the assignment 2 of my photography course so I’ll be going through that to double check I’ve got good enough versions for the theme. Stay tuned to both blogs.
Here are some others that Mike processed for me… Click the images for larger.
Looking back on my blog post recently I realised I haven’t been posting many actual photos! So here’s a photo I took in Bali, freshly processed for your viewing pleasure 🙂 Click for bigger size at pbase:
Sorry it’s been a while. My RSI came back so I’m taking it easy on my pc for now. I’m hoping to get around to processing the photos from our recent holiday to Bali & Singapore and posting them here with a review of Scuba Seraya (where we stayed in Bali). I’ve started the processing but its a slow thing (so my arms dont fall off). Keep your eyes peeled here:
Also, Mike & I have joined Red Bubble. Its a sort of online art gallery and shop where you can buy peoples photos and artwork as all sorts of things like Cards, prints and teeshirts. I’ve a vague plan to get together a 2009 calendar of my underwater images. I’ve put a little banner in my side bar that showcases a few images available to buy on the site so please go and check it out 🙂 I wanted to load this little flashy profile into the side bar but it didnt seem to work…
